Very nice photo and I think you captured the mood of the rememberance of his fallen comrades just perfect.

I think you may just want to tweak your color sliders a bit (assuming you converted to B&W) to darken his hat and shirt and brighten his skin tones a bit to bring more attention to his face because my eyes lead stright to the bright white.

Dont know if you have CS3 but here is a link that kind of explains what I just said:

I don't usually go for any ceremony myself. I just go to the local Vietnam Memorial for a few min of contemplation alone.

That is a nice photo but I believe it would be better if most of the leaves were removed making this more "pano like"

A penny for his thoughts....

wonderful capture, what these men had done and seen for us to be free Americans or A.N.Z.A.C.S soldiers in general freedom forged by bravery...

Lovely Dave from his medal ribbands he obviously was busy at some time in his life.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them or time condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them...

Thanks everyone for the comments and your thoughts on the photo. I really enjoy shooting this every year. I have some more I may put up.

JimL, understood, but I will say that this is a very small and tight nit town. This is the longest continually running memorial day parade in the country. Most of the names on the gravestones are the same as the people attending the ceremony. It is a very emotional event, and very well attended.

Dave
