This shot started life as an F15 sitting on the ramp in Birmingham, Al. See what y'all think of it. Both are best viewed large. :)

Good effort Eric but it unfortunately doesn't look low and it ain't going fast to obtain that effect try putting in a background that isn't sky and get some blurr in there mate or come over to Wales and shoot em doing that for real.....

Great effort.

I like it. At first I debated sun or fire tail. Just retitle it "Beyond the Blue Horizon" and give us a little more run in front of the nose. You are much better at cloning than I.

Skippy, "retracting" that landing gear was fun. ;)

Cool Eric they are a sight flat out and low the pressure waves and vortices they throw off in moist conditions can be spectacular the flylow photographers have had a field day down in Wales this year the F15's have given them some fantastic photo opportunities unfortunately I haven't been able to get to Wales as yet but Bazza and I and a few others hope to be there end of this month so fingers crossed we get some cracking F15 action. Just click on Flylow-Flyfast below there are some just put on there by one of the guys now.

Cheers

You've "lit" the belly of the aircraft very well and "healed over" the landing gear nicely. Since the new background is so far in the distance, the perspective matches plausibly with the plane.

Thanks for the comments Bruce. This is an area of digital that is fun to experiment with. Most of my work lately is strictly for historical documentation. I wouldn't make any changes to those images because of that. That makes it more fun when I have time to fool around with one of my "play" files. :)

There are actually other things that could be done to make this image more realistic. The inlets could be "drooped" into their supersonic position and any exterior lights on the aircraft need to be lit.

That pitot tube is casting a shadow downward, too, which tells us the light's coming from above.

Yep, good point! (easy fix though)

I love what you've done. It looks realistic to me.

I had to fix the pitot tube shadow... ;) Geez, that was glaring.
