Hi everybody,

Just wanted to drop by here and introduce myself. I love taking pictures. In fact, I've been called a photography whore since I take so much pictures. lol I'm just your regular amateur photographer though and I don't have your expensive DSLR type camera as I am still in the process of saving for that. Speaking of DSLR, anyone have an idea what I should get for someone just starting out?

Thanks and hope to learn a little something here from everybody. Seems like this forum look good so far

Welcome to the Zo, Cris. Lots of nice people here always willing to help you. There are several great camera systems available. Decide what your needs are, do some research on the different cameras and then you'll have a good idea of what you need to buy. John's right, we LOVE to spend other people's money here. lol ~~Peg

Welcome aboard Cris!

I suggest you hold you fire until you understand the different types of equipment available in the market. Also, your shooting style and objectives will be important when choosing the camera, not to mention budget.

In your place, I would look for books or articles on the different areas in photography and what equipment suits each one before spending YOUR MONEY :). I wish I had done it myself many years ago.

But we will be glad to help you too.

Rgrds!

Welcome aboard, Cris!

My grandaughter (now 13 yrs. old) is enjoying a used Canon 350D I bought for her use a couple of years ago. More important than the camera, though, are the lenses you put on it! If need be, I'd scrimp on the camera but not on lenses.

Welcome to the Zo Cris. No such thing as an amateur... we just haven't been discovered yet.

When it comes to this place, any camera will do, just be creative and find your niche.
