Jim, I really like this. You captured your lament perfectly. Love the soft color and the starkness of the trees. ~~Peg

Ali,
After your comment I would have to agree about cropping some of the grass from the bottom. I moved it (on my computer) to the folder for further work needed. :-)

Thak you. That was the idea.
Good news however. The state has agreed to reopen the park and take over the upkeep from the city. I think they are planning a small gate fee, where it was free, but it is worth it. A half million people visited the park the year before it closed.

Jim,

Would that be Otter Creek, located near Muldraugh, Ky?

Yes it is. This was taken at the river turn off portion of the park. Those trees were knocked down in a wind storm and are no longer there.

Thought it might be when you mentioned a re-opening. I rec'd an email recently concerning Otter Creek possibly opening again, and it was mentioned that the state fish & wildlife department might be involved in the park managment. Have been to Otter Creek numerous times over the years for the state high school orienteering competitions held there during mid-November. You might have been there during those cold days taking photos while lots of high schoolers ran through the woods with a map & compass. Our team took state there in 2008, which was really nice. :)

Nice capture, I think a crop would do wonders as well as making the blacks "blacker" to give it some more contrast
