Tom, they are adorable.

Tom nice catch. You might need just a tad more depth of field. Try raising the f stop one number. The first one is really sharp and the back is getting a little soft. If you look closely at your picture, you can see pretty easily where the it is sharp and then tends to soften. A higher numbered f stop will widen that strip. Nice job over all.

Monnie glad you live far away. lol Hope we hear from Steve this week. They had a tornado in Billings on Sun. No one hurt, but did lots of damage in the commercial district. Ruined there events arena.

Wow, where did last week go. It seems I just posted a shot. Oh well. I've been meaning to get this shot done, still not sure if I'm satisfied with it, but Remington was not being very cooperative. I don't think he likes pink, LOL. Anyway this week I present to you...

Tom, I agree with Skippy. A little more f-stop will sharpen your DOF. Cute little duckies.
Linda, the things you put those boys through. lol They look like they just got in from a fun night out. Super image. ~~Peg

Skippy and Sage thanks For the comments. I noticed the Dof when I was shooting but the light conditions with the slower zoom lens I had to go to a higher ISO and was very unhappy with the noise and the darkness of the shot when I got the right sharpness, I am sure there was a way to get what i wanted I just have not figured it out yet but I will. Once again Thanks For the comments.

Linda Love them. Almost hate to mention this for their sake, they really don't look happy. All you needed were a couple of empty beer cans or a bottle of booze rolling around and it would match their expressions to a tee. :-)

Shorty the first baby is very sharp and the second one acceptable, don't fret so. :-)

As I've had serious computer problems the past 4 days, I'm just getting around to posting this photo. It's of a glass art work by Dale Chihuly, quite exquisite and fun to photograph. Sort of like some strange critter arising with mouth open on the top left area.

More shots and story to follow..............we had a GREAT time!

This shot taken soon after we landed........ I jumped out and 'legged it' to capture this.

Hi from a somewhat damaged and traumatized Billings. Fortunately for me I live on the west end of town and the tornado was in the east side about 10 miles away. There are hundreds of photos of the damage but I thought I'd go get one of mine. I decided to do a panorama of the whole Metra Park to show the damaged arena next to the untouched other buildings. This weekend the Antique Road Show is in town taping a show in the building on the lower right. Pentax K20D, DA* 50-135mm f/2.8, 50mm, 1/500 @ f/7.1, ISO 100, 3 image pano in PSE7.

Jim, you sure got lots of wires in your photo. fun.

Jim, don't you just love the long twilight's of summer? What a great place to capture fun. Says roll out those lazy days of summer.

Steve nice job on the pano. That twister really made that an open air theater. :-) Watch Roadshow from time to time. Glad you were on the other side of the city.

Michael, well done. The setting is perfect, as long as I don't to sit on those rocks. :-) I can almost feel the bumpy edges.

yeah to bad i cut her toes off . . I know you guys just try and make better photogs out of use but ive looked at many mags and seen toes, arms, feet, hands and have of the hair cut off so im not sure its something that should be preached about so much. My photography has came a long way and im very happy with the photos im producing.

Now with that said i see allot of improvement in our 52 week project. Everyone keep up the great work and continue to improve.

Skippy
06-27-2010, 10:08 AM
Michael, I don't think you cut off the toes. They are underwater. Look at her left foot. Those toes just disappear in that water so why wouldn't the right foot. :-)

Thanks Michael but according to the grass it is just a little bit in front of her. But I got him really great. lol That's another picture.

Jim, you sure got lots of wires in your photo. fun.
....

Well, this is Shively and the park is pretty small. The only way I could avoid the wires was to walk around and shoot into the sun, not something I'm ready to try just yet with moving subjects.

The best shot I didn't get was a carny lady who did not want her photo taken. A real interesting character ala Rockwell poster.

Barely time to shoot anything this week after Monday's tornadoes, losing power and our finished basement getting turned into a swimming pool. But, Nolan is now 5 months old, so I had to take a few photos of the little guy :) Growing like mad!

Isaac, very precious capture. Keep him safe. There was a very grisly incident in the county this week involving a four month. Nolan is so lucky to have you as a father.

Sorry to hear of all the weather trouble. I knew there were tornadoes, but I didn't realize they came close to you. Hope you are drying out.

Thanks Skippy! Yeah, we had some tornadoes really close by - pretty serious damage just a bit north of us. Before I hit the basement I jumped out on the front porch and barely got a capture of the wall cloud trying to drop a funnel. 2-sec handheld exposure what the best I could do. Gee, my weekly entries are beginning to show a pattern. lol I've got to get out more. More sunflowers this week. This one is of the smaller variety with many flowerheads on each stalk. I didn't notice the bug until I uploaded the photo to the computer. I was more interested in getting the picture before the rain got any heavier.

Monnie you even managed a couple of raindrops there. The bug adds some interest too. Landis did do the bowl. Senior moment here. lol

Isaac Took a look at your storm picture. Good handholding. We have a taped documentary called Twisters (not the movie). The boys watch it over and over. It is made by storm chasers from the mid west. There are video clips from all sources. One is made by a lady (can tell by her voice) shooting a twister from her doorway. All the while she is shooting she keeps telling her very young daughter to get down in basement with the baby, she will be there in a minute. It makes you smile just to watch.

Thanks all for the comments. I do think the eye could have been just a bit sharper, but I guess if you all say it is acceptable, I'll go along with that.

The first thing that struck me Landis was the display case. Can't recall ever seeing one in someones home, only in museums. For that piece of glass I would probably need it to be brick walls with the boys around. It is a lovely room and I am sure you get a lot of pleasure out of it.

Tom - Thats what i keep telling myself, Keep shooting, cool little ducklings
Linda - I'm still loving the dog fashion show!
Landis - Interesting work of art, colorful and nicely abstract capture
Peg - great, bright and colorful
John - love the balloon scene, photo has a real nice texture to it I wondered about.
Michael - Interesting culture contrast, good people watching
Jim - fun stop action, like the girl looking over her shoulder for point of interest
Steve - nicely done pano
Michael B - Looks good
Skippy - perhaps because the eye is on a dark background it's hard to tell, still seems focused close enough, great composition
Isaac - happy little guy, growing up right before our eyes!
Monnie - nice angle on your sunflower, don't you love those un-noticed suprise elements.

When we bought this house two years ago it have been unlived in for 20 years. We are slowly but surely renovating the house and this year I started looking around the land. I have so far rescued 20 olive trees, some apple, plum and cherry trees, a whole walnut grove, a couple of almond trees and some rose bushes.

I was looking for something to photograph this week and then we had a downpour of rain. Afterwards, I thought that this rose from one of my 'rescued' rose bushes looked rather nice.

Lovely rose and it looks so fresh with the drops and the light. You must have acquired some land with to if you have rescued that many trees. You should have plenty of squirrels to help with the harvest. :-)
