Mary is my absolute #1 Favorite Model who graces the Zo for some time now. She seldom returns to Panama and usually does so when I'm in the US, so today was the first time I've seen her for over 3 years. She was gracious enough to come into town and give me a short time to shoot before the sun got too dim. I boosted the ISO enough to get good images with sufficient DOF and not too much noise. Because of the darkness of the room and the only light coming in from the widow behind her, it was impossible to get any detail of the ocean outside the window.

I knew what I wanted before she got here and ended up taking only 40 frames. We sat down to look at them after and were both surprised at how many good ones we got. I'm happy!! My first AN shoot in far too long. Enjoy.

well done landis!! was kind of mary to give you her time. think you did a grand job using the natural light, noise isn't too bad at all. my fav shot has to be the second one... i think it's because i like the way the light is falling on mary's face (and she is a lovely looking girl too of course). will take a look at the other pics now.

I like the natural lighting of these as well Landis. Light, airy, natural. Captures your locale fairly well.

I like #2 overall, but appreciate the details in #3. (earrings and freckles) :)

I also like #2 the best, the natural light is lovely and so flattering. Your model looks very relaxed and at ease in that photo too. Good to see some more photos from you Landis :)

#2 was the shot I was looking to get. I laughed and said that all she was missing was the Titanic Blue Diamond around her neck."

I was sure nice to be able to do some more AN shots.........it's been far too long and models are hard for me to find. I probably have about 2500 photos of Mary over the past 12 years or so. Half in film and the rest in digital. We have a wonderful relationship based on respect for each other and she wants to continue shooting with me "until I get old, fat and ugly" She was a bit surprised when I quit shooting after only 40 frames, as we normally go for hours. "No, I got the shot I wanted and a few others. That's enough." The light was fading and we were hungry for an early dinner.

I can't say enough for my Canon 5D MkII and how it works in low light. I know the shots appear to be in a bright room, but that was not the case. Shot in RAW at ISO 800 and used a lot of Shadow Fill on the conversions. Some of these will print up nicely.

Wonderful photography Landis...... Perhaps you should come to Minnesota in the summer and photograph me and Misty?

I know I am not that sexy, but Misty yes!
