I hope this isn't the dumbest question you've heard this week, but do all flash brackets fit on a tripod? Only one of them in my B&H catalog specifically mentions that it has a tripod mount. I want to make sure I get one that will work for me on a tripod. :-D

I just purchased a stroboframe from B&H and it had a place on the bottom for placement on a tripod so I think you're good to go.

Mickey, All bracket flashes that I have seen have a tripod mount in the bottom of the handle. So you can attached flash to camera on tripod or seperate from camera on tripod.

Good! Now I just need to figure out how to get power to the flash! Maybe I'm too stupid to own a camera.

? :? Powe to the flash, do you mean, batteries, or sync cord. To sync flash to camera, you plug sync cord from flash into camera, however the camera may not have a pc connection, there fore you must have an addapter to your camera flash hot shoe.

Well, guess what ... I have the same camera you do! I have a Minolta Maxxum 7D and the 3600HS flash unit. Do I want a 'Flash Cable'?

Ok, your camera, has a PC connection, but you need to buy a flash sync cord for that particular flash, because, that flash is not a main bracket flash, like my Sunpak 544 is a dedicated bracket flash (I cannot attach my Sunpak to my camera hot shoe) I have to attach my 5400HS to my camera (camera mount hot shoe). So your 3600HS attaches to your camera (standard), but you can bracket it off the camera, but you need a flash sync cord (sold seperately) check out your manual for part number, then look at B&H to purchase. Does that make sense, Hope this helps. :-D

No problem, good luck. You may think about getting a SunPak 544 or 555, $130.00 at B&H PHoto, I love mine, great light and distance. Also that gives you two flashes, One for on the camera, and on bracket.
