Need a bit of advice

Have been attending many poker tournaments across the country and since i stink at poker i take a lot of photos and would like to sell them and was wondering about the legalities before i start marketing them to the public

Sorry this thread got over looked. The biggest issues you can expect to run in to is the owner of the location hosting the poker games followed by the people that you are photographing. Unless you will be targeting your sells to the people you photographed, you will need to have a model release from them. This could be easy to get, or impossible. Just depends on the person.

The owner might be easier to deal with. Just contact him prior to the event and explain what you want to do. He might give you permission provided you give him a few prints to use for advertising.

And even if you get the owners permission, you still need a viable commercial release from each person identifible in the image if the images will be sold for commercial use, advertising, etc. For news or editorial, you may not need the individual releases.
