no more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
no more worries for me or you, for a week or two."

Ahhh, but, if you look under the petals on the front flower, there are more surprises.....I know I was surprised.

The view out of my (dirty) bedroom window. Love looking out across the pool to see my horses in the field. Very peaceful setting.

This little friend is a stray, we have been feeding him. Our own cat is not to happy about it!

Very nice shots willard3, sage, and bishop, all idyllic.

The lines and anthers in that flower are, well, I am at a loss for words, mishlove.
How about "marvelous" until I think of something better.

navigator - is this the same cat that turned up on the monthly challenge? It looks like the same cat. I would give it a home except I don't think our dogs would particularly like that. But in any case, this is a wonderful photograph!!

Anyway, I just joined the Photographic Society of the Morton Aboretum here in Chicagoland, and tomorrow is their first annual picnic; which Carol and I will be attending. I will be taking pictures, but none will likely be posted before the deadline.

Therefore, my entry this week is the lowly result of another experiment with my new 40 mm pancake lens, this time with a 27mm 10X dipopter I picked up as part of a $16 filter kit that also included circular polarizer, UV, warming, and ND filters. You can't beat that price with a stick!

So anyway, one is limited to 16 inches focal length with the 40 mm lens; great for what I intend to use it for; but with the 10X diopter... about 4 inches:

Things are pretty much drying up here in Chicagoland; crops, ponds... everything. It's a damn good thing that global warming is a myth! Imagine how bad it would be if it were true!!

Willard - whatever it is is looks big and yellow (I am good at flowers, can you tell?!!)
Peg - lovely place to sit an waste a few hours - bliss.
Linda - thats looks "wonderful" but before you go for a peaceful stroll or swim "Clean your windows" ;-)
Micheal - like me you are a keen gardener as well eh!!!!!
Phil - I will admit I am not a cat 'person' but ask a child to draw a picture of a cat and look at the pose that one is making - bingo, a perfect match!
John - looks like I feel.......................... opps! ;-)
Paul - I love these 'downtown' images, great clarity.

Another busy week for me, but there was a reason. Nothing like a Wedding to keep you busy. Our daughter and new son in law.

I like the graffiti, Ima Hack, especially the rigid pattern of the brick and block buildings, and the metal and its uniform color against the colorful free-flowing lines made by the graffiti artists.

Also, the feeling I get from it is one of freedom of artistic expression; a positive feeling.

And Lovin-Our-Life, your nickname would seem to describe how they are feeling in the picture; joy.
Also, in terms of composition, I like the bright red bouquet, repeated in the space between them and in the red on his service ribbons, and the leading lines in the garage siding. Nice shot.

Wow,another wonderful collection of shots this week! I love the diversity of this thread, flowers, rural landscapes, urban cityscapes , a kitty and even a wedding:D.

We had some evening sunshine yesterday and my PAW 29 is of a Small Scabeous which is one of my favourite summer flowers.

Yep, I'm still alive and well. Went to an antique car show yesterday and had a great time clicking away at 200 cars which is a terrific showing for Billings. Pentax K20D, DA*16-50 f/2.8.

This little fella was my last ditch effort to get a photo for this week.
Several un named distractions kept me off balance this week but at least minimum requirements were met.

Getting in at the last hours as I've been on a road trip since Wednesday a week ago. Main purpose of the trip was to do settlement on the house in New Jersey, but combined it with a detour up to Berea, Kentucky to take in the July Crafts Fair and see some old friends there. Unfortunately the fair was a no-go as it was raining buckets, but I did have a visit with my good friend (and master woodcarver) John while I was there.
Stayed in campgrounds during the trip. Here's a photo of some old picnic tables that must have been past their expiry date at a campground in Spartanburgh, South Carolina.

Like ya'alls photos this week :thumb:
