Ordering lens from B&H

Fed up trying to get a 70-200L 2.8 IS UHM from this country ive decided to order one from B&H. What i don't know about is import duty. What happens, do I get a letter from import people for import tax. If someone has ordered from abroad before can you give me some idea what happens regarding inport duty.

I've never done a lens before but I have ordered DVDs which attract duty in the past (in fact I am having to go and pick some up tomorrow). What happens is the post office (or other carrier) demands payment of the duty owed (VAT + Duty) before they let you have your goods. They will also levy a charge on top of the duty to cover their costs in collecting it.

You're looking at about 23.5% on a lens I think, VAT at 17.5% + duty at 6%
