I've ordered a flash, arrived yesterday, its a dedicated P-TTL flash (Pentax 540 FGZ for K10D)...

Aside from being specific Pentax flash, this is my first flash ever, all the terminology and options are all but foreign to me! Is there a such a site/book on "Flash for dummies"? I want to understand fully on the usage, but completely lost in all the verbiage at technical names in the booklet :-(

So really, is there a site or a book that explains basics of flash, modes, when to use which one, limitations of f/stops, focal lenght?

Thanks for any advice!

Regards,
D

Don't be put off by the fact that this flash explanation (http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/) is about Canon EOS flashes... it has a lot of info about ETTL which I hope you'll find helpful.

Bruce - thank you so much!!! 2 hours reading (up to now), few test shots (well, more than few), starting to make sense now! Great article, very easy to understand, well broken down into sections!

Many many thanks!
