There has always been a strong push by professional photographers against the micro stock industry. Modern Postcard, and large printing concern with a large base of pro photographers, entered into a partnership with iStockPhoto. After receiving order cancellations, e-mails, and phone calls from pro photographers upset with the partnership within hours of the announcement, Modern Postcard cut ties with iStockPhoto and issued a press release.
I think it shows quite clearly the position pro photographers feel about the micro stock industry. I find it amazing that they rallied so strong and hard against the Modern Postcard/iStockPhoto agreement that it was absolved within 2 days of being announced.
We are only powerless if we don't speak up!
