Here are 3 pics I took of my mother's flowers. Let me know what you think. I just picked up photography back in December and could definitely use the pointers and tips.

Very good. Excellent exposure. The rose is so velvety.
It's hard when shooting macro flowers but try to not center things if you can, include diagonals when possible as well as they really pull the eye in. Experiment with different perspectives on the shots. And have fun with it too :)

Fine shots. The rose works best for me because of the slightly washed out background colour going so well (IMO) with the dusky edges of the petals. Linda's advice is sound. My tip would be to vary the background colours where possible and try to ensure they support the main subject.
