A recent senior. We will be doing her outdoor shots tomorrow. This is a favorite from her indoor images.

It's very good and the lighting is perfect. How did you get her hair movement like that, a fan blowing on her? I like your post processing as well, I know it's not to everyone's taste but I like it. I downloaded a free trial of Portrait Professional (after you mentioned it in another thread), I see it's on at half price right now.

Yes. I bought a "Vornado" after another photographer was bragging about them. The Vornado has an unusual shape that directs a column of air rather than a wide stream of air making it easy to blow only her hair. This image was done with the fan at the lowest setting and about five feet from her. As far as post processing goes few if any high school girls want blemishes, dark spots, circles under the eyes, stray hair or scars etc., on their faces. Every senior I have ever used this on has loved it. It seems the only people who don't like it are other photographers!

As someone who hasn't looked at Senior Portraits for probably 45 years, I find the examples you have posted over time to be quite nice, and far different from what I remember. In an age when high school girls are getting everything from total facials, botox, boob jobs and other procedures, I'm not surprised at your comment. You do a great job at giving a total facial. She looks like a China doll. That's a compliment on your work and I also love the hair blowing.

Overall, I think this is a really good picture. I like the blowing hair, and the PP makes her skin look perfect. But her smile is bugging me. It just doesn't look natural. Nothing that you can really do about that, but that is what caught my eye.

Ben did you touch up work on that girl's face, because it's as smooth as a babies bottom, and most teenagers faces are not that smooth. Nice work.

Robin,
Yes I did some retouching of several blemishes on her face. All in all though she has rather nice skin but (of course) the day before this session a couple of zits decided to pop up.
