Gee Glenn, are looking for a genre change? These are great. This has to be a nice calm break from the polo.

I especially like the ostrich, Glenn. Were these taken with your Canon 600mm f/1.8 lens? lol

Cheers, Ron!

I think it's a Rhea, Bruce, although I could be wrong! Actually they were all taken with the Great White Dust Trombone; the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM. I am trying to "learn to love it" before I drag it off to Canada in a month or so.

Very sharp with lots of detail. Did you adjust the eye of the "Rhea?" to eliminate your reflection? The eye reflection doesn't seem as clear as the others.

Jim, no, there was no manipulation of the rhea's eye. That's as it came out of the camera.

Glen my jaw dropped as I saw #1 but as #2 rolled up I couldn't believe my eyes. This is by far t he best photographer I have ever seen of this type of bird. Be it Ostrich, Rhea or Emu, they are all similar. This is superb.
Added to the trio #3 the owl. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing them.

Great images Glenn. Did your Sat Nav take you on a wrong turn while travelling to the motorsport then? :-) They're all very sharp and well composed but No. 2 does jump out at me the most.

Cheers,
Steve

I love the personality in the face of the ostrich. What a character. Downright zany. Love the detail, eyelashes, hairs everywhere and the seeming grin on her (his) face. Charming.
