Not Montana, no Robert Redford :-) This is the River Welland in a green and quiet spot in the centre of the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire. Nearby was a game of soccer, lots of people picnicing, and an ice-cream seller doing good business.

This is simply fantastic. I love it. It evokes a peaceful, quiet day. This is as perfect as it gets. Good job.

Wait a minute.. is this a Renoir or one of those other names that escapes me. This is, oh how cliche, picture perfect. Tranquillity at its finest. This is a masterpiece. Thanks a bunch for sharing this. With your permission, I'd like to put this in my favorites folder so when I need to slow down and relax, I can just go "there".

Thanks Eddie, Michelle, Jim, Linda & Traveller. I've pointed the camera at this view before, but never pressed the shutter. The boats and light made me take the shot this time. Unskinny dippers like this spot Eddie, but a strong wind was keeping them at bay :-) This is a fairly tranquil spot in a bustling old town, and lots of people like to leave the shops and sit here and ponder a while. By all means favourite the shot Traveller.

Nice shot as always Tony, that is a cool serene scene. I like how that tree is just touching the water. good job
Beautiful Tony. So, so peaceful
If you ever go to Dublin... There is a place called Greens Park, like this in the centre of the city. You can't believe how beautiful it is in there either. So many city workers enjoying their lunch break.

Thanks Ron & Jan. I'm not familiar with that Dublin spot Jan, but London has one or two similar locations where you can forget you're in a big city. I was on a footbridge to take this shot, and downstream beyond the trees is an old roadbridge that connects the two sides of the town. From near this point it's possible to get a shot that includes most of the 5 medieval churches in this old town. I'll be looking for that one later in the year.
