Made a run up to the Indian reservation to get our fireworks for tonight. In doing so, we have to cross the only bridge that connects our island to another (island) which then connects to the mainland.
The elements for shooting were horrendous, or more likely, beyond my budding ability to conquer :-(
But I'll share these anyway, in hopes it gives you a sense of just how pretty this subject can promise.
Here is a shot of the bride over Deception Pass.

It has two spans that meet upon a small island (just to the left of this view).
Here are a couple more. This one shows the footing on the far shore (of the pix above). Can you imagine having to form and pour that concrete?

And this one is looking more to the side I'm on, and down to waters edge. See the trees growing out of the shear rock?
Not a bad spot for fishing either. Mostly greenling, cabazons, rockfish, etc...
The current is a kicker. As you can see here, it was running in. It will then slack, and run out. It will reach speeds of 7 to 8 knots and big holes will develop, just like a river.

Well, I tried....
I hope to do it justice someday, but it's an hours drive up from my house and with the cost of gas...well, frankly, you guys just aren't worth it :-P
