Last Thursday we went down to the City to visit some family. While down there, we went to Peggy's Cove for a day. Peggy's Cove is a famous little landmark here in the Maritimes. It is best known for the lighthouse, and as the site of the Swiss Air flight 111 air crash in September 1998. The fog was quite thick, the pictures don't do it justice. All comments and critiques welcome as usual.

This here is the Swiss Air flight 111 crash memorial site, located a few miles before reaching the Village of Peggy's Cove and the lighthouse.

Entering the Village it's self, you come down a small hill. To your right is a small inlet. On the right of the inlet is this little shack.

To the left is a dock, where all the local fisherman anchor and unload their catch.

Very nice shot Brad. I particularly like how you've composed the second one (though I might take a bit of the sky off :-)). In the third shot the colours of the boats among the more subdued hues give some real "punch" to the image.

Nice pictures, Brad. I like #3 the best. The colorful boats just make this shot. In #1, I would have taken a little off the top and added a little more at the bottom.

Great shots, Brad. I think it hasn't changed a bit since I was there in 1985. Such a wonderful place. I really like 2&3. Great shots. The fog just adds to the character of the place.

Thanks so much for all the kind words Tony, Monnie, Landis, Jan, and Leonie, I really appreciate it.

Tony, I have added a rework with some off the sky, and a tighter crop on the right side to rid it of the intruding pieces. I missed them when processing.

Monnie, I can't add anymore at the bottom. Silly me held the camera crooked and had to rotate it. I have added a rework with less sky.

Thanks again all, Part 2 will be up soon.

I really love the third shot, the boats are so colorful and fun, it reminds me our our Shem Creek area.

Again, these are lovely shots of a wonderful looking place. They're the kind of shots that really make me want to visit.

Thanks Linda, Ruth and Alan, it's appreciated. Ruth, If you are ever over this way it really is a must see place. It's probably the nicest place I've ever been in the Maritimes. But bring lots of memory cards! I nearly filled two 1 gig cards in about 2 hours.

The second one is my favorite Brad. It must belong to a lobster fisherman. I think that's what all those crates are. Love the reflections. Wish there was more to this picture right or left.

Thanks Skippy. It does belong to a Lobster Fisherman. I did take a few more shots of this with some more space on both sides, But I didn't like them. There was too many distractions.
