We were out and it started getting stormy, then it really got going so we went to a our lake and I grabbed some shots. I didn't have my tripod with me so these were the most stable of the bunch.
Some "intercloud" lightning, made for cool tones and colors

Here's a couple really cracken lightning bolts, these were blindingly bright!

Simply spectacular Ron. The second (and third) shots with the rippled surface of the clouds illuminated from below are wonderful, and the mix of colours and brightness/dark in the first is very pleasing.

Great captures. Wish we had lightings in Iceland.
The sky in nr.2 is crazy, it's like the scene in the movie Independence Day where the spaceships where hovering over the cities.
I like nr. 3 the best.

I said that same thing to my wife, looks like Independance Day!

Can't put my finger on it... but I like #2 best...
I have yet to get any good lighting shots.. we get very little of it in Seattle

Thanks Ken.
Bummer, I'd have thought you guys had a lot there with all the coastal weather moving around.

I think it needs more temperature colisions and we are just mild here.. an inch of snow or 89 degrees cause news coverage here!!!
WE may have some on the weekend.. with a rare advanced forcast of T-storms..

Ah ok, your temps are too stable, that makes sense. Are you guys going to get really hot this weekend too?

These are nice Ron, I love the way the lightning is lighting the underside of the clouds in #2, really shows off the texture of those clouds.
