We had some huge swells here on the West Coast of Florida thanks to hurricane Gustav!! These were taken at Anna Maria Island in Bradenton, Florida.

The remaining images can be seen here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ergimages/sets/72157607065382991/

Really nice images, ERG !!! #1 is great. Have you used a Canon 70-200 f/4L IS USM for them ?

Superb shots, ERG! What should we call you? You can put it in your signature so we know how to "address" you in our responses.

What lens did you use? I tried my first surfing photography last Friday and compared to yours, my photos look as if they were taken with my phone! Great job.

Those do need to be resized to 800 px or smaller on the long edge, though. Thanks.

Thanks Bruce!! I'm Eddie.

This was also my first effort to shoot surfing. I used a 70-200mm f/4 L w/ Hoya CP on my Canon 400D, but the key to close shots was standing 50yds offshore in waste-deep water! Needless to say, I finally found a use for that annoying neck strap and held the camera VERY tightly!

Point taken on the image size. I usually size my images at 800X533 for forums, but went a little larger on these to better showcase some of the details.
