When I open a large\fine quality file in PS, the resolution is always 72 ppi at 54x36 inches.

Is there any way to adjust the setting on camera to get it to shoot at 300ppi at roughly 13x8.5"?

I shot on a different camera today and that's the way it's files opened.

Thanks

Many cameras do not set PPI, some do. If PPI is not embedded in the file, PS likes to open it with the initial setting of 72.

The important part of resolution is your entire pixel count, not the PPI. PPI can be adjusted as you need to, making sure that the resample box is NOT checked.

300 PPI is considered standard for print quality, but it depends on the size of print that you need. Your file might not have enough pixels to fit the large print size at 300 PPI.

There is not way to change this. If you are shooting RAW, your RAW converter, whether Adobe's or Canon's, will let you set the PPI when you export it.
