The Steam Threshing weekend at Bicker in Lincolnshire, a fund raiser for the maintenance of its medieval church, features a gathering of C19 and early C20 traction engines, one of which was giving rides around the village.

Now if we could only get the steam power without burning wood or coal. We could get all the environmental wackos to be quiet for a while.

Looks like fun Tony.

Nice photo. They a similiar event not too far from here in Indiana every year. It is set up like a local fair.

Thanks Craig, Landis & Jim. There's something that appeals to me about these old engines, so I took the shot. Incidentally, this is a rare shot of mine that has no PP - its just a straight conversion to jpeg from the original RAW.

Wow Traction Engines! These are amazing pieces of machinery history. nicely captured. I love seeing the steam plowing events with the two traction engines either side of the field.

Is that Jeremy Clarkson on the back of the trailer? :)

I took a look over your photo blog too, I especially like the black and white church yard photos.

Neil.

Thanks Neil. It couldn't be Jeremy Clarkson Neil or he'd have fitted a spoiler, air scoop and go faster stripes to the engine! Thanks for the thoughts on the blog - much appreciated.

Regards, Tony
