Sadness Selfportrait with Texture

This is my first real self portrait shot and I would appreciate any comments or criticism on this picture.

A sad and hopeless day that made me feel depressed and because of the finance depression in Iceland. It's hopefully getting better.

I really like the texture. I think it adds to the mood you were going for.

I like the first and third sections of the frame. To me the middle section skimps on content and the brightness and different size make it look, to me, as though it was stuck in as a space filler.
As far as the sizing of the sections go, I would make them all the same or some directional progression of different sizes so as to facilitate eye flow through the photos.

i also liked the first and third, but cannot refrain from comments on the second. no doubt, the deliberate throw of light on the bg, making it more white, but the expression of the desperate hand shows more than delineated. good series. by now the situation must have come around.
