I entered a couple of my pictures in our local tri-county fair. This picture of my Tawny Eagle won 3rd place and $50. I'm excited.

Congratulations, Monnie. No wonder it won: color, dof, composition are great and it's super sharp. You have a right to be excited. Kudos! Could I get a loan? lol!

Congratulations, Monnie! Something that I find fun to do (having won an award) is to hang around the gallery like a spectator and eavesdrop on the comments of people looking a the photos. Some people really know their art/photography. Others... lol ... particulary men... well, they know what they like. I get a kick out of it when they try to explain to the "little woman" the technical aspects of a photo. "Well, see, she used a really wide angle lens to photograph this here hawk..."

Funny story, Bruce. I was looking at another picture at the exhibit that was wonderful and had received an honorable mention. I commented that I would like to know what setup the photographer used. The man behind me said, "I used a 500mm lens." Sure glad I had made nice comments about his photo. lol

Zoom lens????? Yeah, Kathy. Like I can get a decent zoom lens with $50. I'll probably just put gas in my car so I can go take more pictures. lol

Darn it. I was going to use it to make a down payment on a macro lens. Guess I'll have to wait till she wins the BIG ONE!!!! lol!

Sage, If you are interested in a macro lens, I have a Canon 100mm macro forsale. It's in perfect condition. I just don't use it enough. It's also a very heavy lens. PM me if you want more info.

Eddie, she doesn't have too much interest in money. She only works for fetal chicks. She can down one of those critters in a couple seconds flat.

Oh Monnie, I think you're mistaken. I can recall being single and trying to get the single chicks fetal....

It was very expensive :-P

Oh, BTW, you shoulda won the blue ribbon :-D
