Default Folly Beach in the Morning

Got up early this morning and went out to Folly Beach. It was about 8:30 a.m. when I shot these. Enjoy.

Very nice Linda, I'm a sucker for lighthouses and piers. This reminds me of Dauphin Island Alabama, just south of Mobile in the Gulf. It's a barrier island and it's moving north, leaving the homes on the south side in the Gulf!

Folly Beach is also a barrier island. I lived here during hurricane Hugo and saw the destruction. Now, people have forgotten and homes have once again been built right on the beaches. Folks just never learn.

    Thanks for the comments!

Great shots, Linda. I love the Morris Island Lighthouse. Looks like they've got the coffer dam around the bottom of it. Also looks like they've straightened it up. I'm so glad to see them working on it.

Thanks Monnie, didn't look like anyone was working on it recently. Was it more crooked than it is here? I couldn't get it very straight in my shots

Very nice shots, Linda. Love the second one. It's a simple kind of beauty that really works well.

All nice shots Linda, but the second one takes the cake for me! It's so simplistic and beautiful. I like how you framed the lighthouse with the path in.

The light house now has a lean to the South East. It leans to the right in this shot. (You are looking to the North East)
It was not that way before they started working on it. I think they are trying to keep it (Hush-Hush)
You should see it from the N.E. side when the sun comes up early in the morning. The lighting is awesome!

    Good shots Linda!!

Thanks Steffie. Thanks Brad. Thanks Rick. Appreciate the comments.
It's a toss up for me if I like the lighthouse shot or the one with the sea oats and rocks. The pier is just a fun shot... everyone takes pictures of the pier

Linda I really like the way you've used the dune and grass in #3 as a natural frame for the lighthouse, so that has to be my favourite...however I am also loving that great pier!

    Linda;

Love the fisherman's pier, but, then, I'm a fisherman.

Love the lighthouse, does that make me a lighthouseman?

Hard to keep anything with much ground pressure on the ocean foreshore. People do keep rebuilding on barrier islands and nor'easters keep takin them out.....that's why it's flat by the ocean......

Looks like a neat beach, I bet a shot straight down that pier would be cool

Linda, I like the pier and the lighthouse framed in the sea oats. The lighting on the second one did not appeal to me.

Great shots. I really like the lighthouse.

I like the last one. The framing and the down low level you shot it at. But color and contrast on my screen just don't make it. They all look like a cloudy day. Wish a Genie would come a long and make all our screens the same.

Okay that makes sense. Would love to see the light house and path at sunrise or sunset. That one has a lot potential.

Linda the early morning was worthwhile. Love the Pier. I love the second shot composition, but I feel the lighting is bit off.
#3 the lighthouse! I'm wondering what it would look like using the left hand side and crop 1/2 way between the lighthouse and the grass on the right. ??

Jan, go ahead and show me what you mean, if you can.

I know the light is off on the 2nd shot. I was trying to capture the brilliant sun on the water and exposed out there, so the foreground stuff is almost in silouette.
