Cornish tea-time treat

The divine trinity of scones,my home-made strawberry jam and Cornwall's finest clotted cream . If it was a Devon cream tea then the cream goes on first...People argue over the niceties.

Love the 1st shot ! When we were in Cornwall we had tea and fell in love with the clotted cream. I finally found some here in the States at a Whole Foods store and it was $7 (US) for a 4oz jar. No where near as good as what you have. Now I want some more.

We love the cream too.Thankfully, it now has protected geographical status in the same way as Champagne and Parmesan cheese.

Thank you Peg. I've been making virtually all our jam and marmalade for 5 or 6 years now apart from the 1 jar of apricot jam used for putting the marzipan on the Christmas cake. We have a very good pick-your-own farm just over a mile away and we make good use of what they grow.

Oooh,how to explain something so wonderful . It is the thickest cream we have and because of the way it is made finishes with a crust on the top which is the best bit beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It is and no,it isn't like butter just really really thick cream.

You would have though that someone on your side of the pond would have given it a shot before now but perhaps your FDA put a spanner in the works
