Default First attempt to post pictures - Norway last weekend

    Hi everybody,

here my first attempt to post some pictures. Since we have very nice weather last weekend I was out taking some pictures at the river where I live.

I am relatively new to the whole DSLR photography etc, so comments and suggestions for improvement etc are welcome

    Regards,
    Tom

    Really nice shots Tom.

The only thing I might suggest (and I'm nit picking here), the last shot I might have tried to not have the sunset right in the center, that being said it's still a beautiful shot and my favorite of the bunch.

The low point of view really puts you in the scene and the leading lines of the rocks draws you out into the picture. Nice Job.

Very nice series. I would also watch dividing the photo in half with the waterline. Notice in #s 2 & 4 how the waterline is in the upper third of the shot. These are much more pleasing to look at. I like how you offset the sun in #4. This is called the Rule of Thirds. No. 2 is my favorite. I would rotate the shot CCW to make the horizon level. Another thing you have to watch out for. Notice the horizon in #3 is level. See the difference. No. 3 is just a little to warm(orange) for my tastes.

Thanks everybody for the comments...... already learned something new

I just took these ones how I felt they would look best but now when you mentioned about the upper third water line, waterline not level, offset of the sun etc ...... these are really good points I will remember in future.

I have not yet figured out the gallery thing but will look into it.

    Regards,
    Tom

#'s 3 and 5 are my picks of this series. You did well to be learning everything at once. Lovely colors and your country is one of my favorites. ~~Peg
