    Default Sunrise....

    One of my favorites taken in early spring(I think). Was able to capture the color of the sun and foreground pretty much as I saw it. Bob

    The details really make this one. The sharp outlines of the trees, the distant trees muted by haze, and the birds coming in by the Sun put it all together for you. Great shot.

    Great shot ! I love the deep red and the dark trees. Are those birds , the top one looks like a water drop ? Just wondering.

    Thanks The Barbarian! Thanks Nod! Those are birds-most likely seagulls. Bob

    Cool shot. Looks like one of the blazing sunrise/sunset shots you see in Africa.

    Thanks Mark! Usually you get the "red rubber ball" shots on a humid summer morning around here. That said rarely will my sensor capture it in the manner you see it. With this spring shot it was cutting thru a lot of light cloud and fog so it didnt overwhelm the sensor. Bob

    Thanks Greg! Thanks Peg! I attribute a lot to persistence! Just about every day the weather looked good last spring I would drive a short distance down the road from work(I get there at 6 am) and wait for the sunrise. I am starting up again as the sunrise times get later now. Bob

    Love this image, BobR, and the bird really makes it.
    Since mishlove referenced lyrics recently, this makes me think of one of my favorite the Beatles songs; Blackbird.
    If it was a black crow, that would be Joni Mitchell, then.

    To me, and this is to a great extent (but not entirely) a personal thing, I would say the last image you just posted is AWESOME. I love it; everything about it; the layers first in the water with the reflection of oranges in front then fading into lighter blues in the water and profoundly deep blues in the homes to black profile in the trees with the then red, orange, yellow, blue in the upper two-thirds. And the HUGE sun; like a Harvest Moon, this is a Harvest Sun; something we have been experiencing here in the midwest for way too long this year with the crops dying;

    And then, there is the bird flying away in silhouette over the water.

    I've spoken with many farmers around here, and I would imagine they would all love to be that bird.

    Sometimes people think I'm too wordy, but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated this image.
