Do they serve beer in the Coffee House?

Do they serve beer in the Coffee House, because I need one right about now. I decided last week to announce a photo session give-a-way. My goal was to interest the contestants in sessions if they didn't win. I had over 60 contestants enter to win, and actually had 5 of them schedule family photo shoots this week and next at full price. So my winner will recieve an hour shoot and digital copies of the photos I choose.

Well, about 3 hours after announcing my give-a-way, another local photographer announces the same thing!! I announce my winner and 2 hours later she announces she's decide to choose 5 winners! On top of that, everyone who entered her contest will recieve 25$ sessions with free digital copies of ALL of the photos.

Thankfully, I explained to the 5 who had scheduled with me that I wont photograph myself for 25$ and that no other respectable photographer should either, and they understood.

I just had to vent about this a little. And respectable photographers wonder how the industry is getting so bad.... geeeeze!

Has anyone else had this issue?

haha , sound like a local photographer that deals w/ local bands that ive had a few issues with ..

he's charging talent at $25/hr and the quality of his work is sub-par ,.... however i charge by package, and dont charge per hr until after my package limits .... then i charge $75/hr...

for some reason people seem to think that his package per hr + buying all the prints and CD's and what have u is cheaper than a standard package...

so yes i can feel your pain ...

i also have issues with competition w/ students coming out of the photo schools that charge basicaly nothing for their work ....

ive said it time n time again .. Charge Your Worth !
