Son and co are setting up a recording studio in the basement......in their travels they found a turntable and amp....the turntable was not working....but managed to fix it with a rubber band.....not sure where they put it, but it works perfectly.....so we sat done and listened to Jeff Beck....awesome.

Boy, that Monnie is slacking off again.......must be summer.

Luckily, Michael, guitars don't make so much noise in a picture.

    Nice duck, Ed.

This is actually the color of this sunflower. Grown at the farm with the best sweet corn EVER.

Oops, sorry. Michael, your post wasn't stickied and I didn't see it. Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about.

This is strange because I wrote a fairly detailed response to the mishlove image. Sometimes I guess I forget to hit "send". But, although my memory is pretty much shot, I probably wrote that I like lines and colors in this a lot and how it takes me back to the 60's. Nice one, mishlove. And, oh yes, the contrast between red and green on the wall and floor.

Nice picture of a duck and reflection, Edvins, but what my eye then finds especially beautiful is the waves of the water.

And that sunflower, Willard3, kind of links back to the guitar picture in my mind as its apparent tone mappng (and remember I said "apparent" and I could be wrong) definitely reminds me of some substance-based experiences I had back in the 60's, when appearances were much like this image

In addition, I love the positioning of the subject and how the clouds' edges form leading lines to it, not that any are needed, and I like the intense dynamic contrast in both luminance and chroma.

In summary, Willard3, I love it, Willard3!! Very nice job. And a departure, I think, from many of your pictures I've seen before.

    Tnx for the comments, guys.

Williard...that is one wild looking sunflower (even without using illegal substances)

Still playing catch-up. Been a bit quiet photographically speaking this week but we played at tourists yesterday afternoon with a visit to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, about an hour from us. It is one of our top 10 palaces and without a doubt absolutely magnificent. Sadly no interior photography at all so we had to make the most of the architecture.

This building was first and foremost a statement of power which meant bold architecture and decoration, hence all the heraldry and classical references.
