Thread: Taking A Break

    Default Taking A Break

Just a quick note to those whom I consider my friends here. For a while now I've been losing steam. I struggle to get one photo for the 52 week project much less anything else. Photography has become a chore not a pleasure. My personal situation is also in the midst of an upheaval. Thanks for the support and encouragement you've given me the last 5 years. ~~Peg

Peg, it is understood that we all need a break from many things in life. With that, life itself gets in the way of our passions and must take the front seat. I hope that you work through all that is in your way and find your way back real soon. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me...

Hope to see you back soon.

Hope you personal situation levels out soon. After the last band I was in broke up I hadn't picked up my guitar in almost a 1 1/2. Making music had become a chore so I totally understand that. People asked me if I miss it. I tell them if I do I will pick up my guitar again. One door is closed, another is opened.....So many things to investigate in life....In the last week I fired up my amp, picked up my guitar and banged out a few tunes. A closed door can be reopened at any time. Bob

Many times I've thought about what else I'd rather be doing with my time and to set some kind of priority on time spent with my camera. Life does get in the way and people I interact with on a regular basis just outside my home often do not understand that, to me, the camera is a kind of release which requires my attention to be focused to the exclusion of things and people around me.
Sometimes that is good and sometimes I just have to set the camera down and try and renew the commitment to interact with what is going on outside the view finder. I find the change from prints to picture windows from time to time keeps me stable (er).
Hope your situation resolves itself and you are able to get back in the "Zo" swing of things soon. Take care of yourself and I will miss you until you return.

    Peg,

I fully understand the need to take a break. After a two year hiatus from my fishing hobby, we finally got the boat out yesterday and spent a couple of hours on the water. Didn't even take the camera, and it was a welcome, albeit short, break from the norm. Hope to see you back here whenever that time seems right for you.

It happens to all of us Peg, I wish you only the best of luck with what whatever you have going on personally. My world has been turned upside down as well lately and the one thing that seems to bring me a relaxing moment is photography....it's almost cathartic at times (at least when the light is good!)

You have a been huge inspriation to me and always offer kind words and very helpful advice. Your warmth will be mised by all.....

When you get the gumption to come back, you know the door is always open here.

    Hi Sage,

I'm sorry to hear about how your circumstances are affecting you. I don't know what they might be, but I do know that things change in life all the time.

I don't know if this will be of help or not, but for myself, I've often found that when I've been down and things are looking dark and bleak, then if I just wait, it changes and then things become better eventually. (And I often try to keep this in mind when things seem to be going extremely well; that that won't last either.)

Do what you have to do at this moment, but just know that so many, me definitely included, have profoundly enjoyed and benefited from your activity in this forum. I just know that eventually you'll be back with us again firing on all cylinders Take care.

Take a break and a much needed rest. Photography is a passion and a pastime , but it can be overwhelming. I'll miss you though; there are only a few who take the time reply..

It's like riding a bicycle though.. you can get back on any time you fell inclined..

    I entirely agree with John.

Life is dynamic & the life's situations always keep changing. But that's what makes life interesting, isn't it? otherwise, it will be too boring. We can enjoy the day only when it's followed by night & vice versa.

I miss u & your kind, encouraging words immensely. Wish all your problems will be resolved soon & u get back to this forum. All the best, Peg.

    Ahhhhhh......LIFE, what a concept.

    Who writes my story,
    Who reads it?
    Am I to follow,
    Lead.....
    or hide?
Do answers exist to questions not asked?
    Is free return shipping included?
Do I listen to my head, or
    my heart,
    or TV news?
    What is sweet,
    and what is salty,
    what is cold,
    what is hot?
    What is bent,
    what is straight?

    Peg.....I do not know. BUT,
    the challenge to,
    is what is life.

Hold dear to yourself, be well, happy, and joyful....

    Peg.

Been there, done that ..... don't seem to still have my steam back, but atleast I am taking pics again! I really didn't for over 3 years! I know a difficult life situation creates a very intense time, that some times you just have to step back and let go of what you can let go of....... know that your photozo friends will support you ..... Good luck!

Peg, Am really going to miss you. Maybe when you go on Scot's photowalk it will perk your interest again.

Hang in there, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
