Very nice scene. I might back off on the red filter a little to lighten the blue sky some during the BW conversion were I doing it and, if you wish, you may read up on the "Hyperfocal Distance" to keep the photo sharper from front of frame to background.
Very interesting country.

High Jim. Thanks for the response. I went back to the original and looked at the focus. It would appear that this web version is not doing a very good job of relaying it as the original is focused front to back. I did use the Hyperfocal method on this. I think 800px is a problem for some scenes.

Great shot, Dave. I love the B&W conversion. Is the horizon level? Part of me says it is, and part of me wants to straighten it.

Thanks Monnie. And yes, the horizon is level. That was one thing I was wondering how people would react to on this picture. There is actually nothing level to give you that sense.
