I don't know Jesse, but we'll give this a little bump. A Smug Mug pro account might work for you.

Thanks for the reply Skippy. I have been reading up on that and how. But how much to they get a cut of what you sell and do they do all the printing and shipping to the people who order?

Hi Jessie, welcome to the 'Zo. Check out this link:
    http://www.smugmug.com/photos/profes...g-sell-photos/

It looks like you set your own prices, and keep 85% of the profit. You also have a choice of what printing lab is used, and will ship directly to your customer.

    Hope that helps...

    PickPic
This is a division of WHCC. There are others that handle everything and yes they do take a profit for the work.

I recently switched from SmugMug to PhotoReflect (http://www.photoreflect.com/). I like it because my local lab is part of their printing network. I pick up the prints, check them over one final time and mail to my customer. Or you can have the printer mail to your customer. I just like that final quality check. PhotoReflect does not charge an annual fee like SmugMug, remit payments to me more often and at lower $$ thresholds than SmugMug. I'm happy with PhotoReflect so far but I only switched over to them about a month ago.

I also use Photoreflect. Easy to setup and use, has worked well for me for years.

I have just discovered Zenfolio.com. They use mpix.com as their printing lab. You can set up folders, and passwords for clients to get in or just have pics open to public. You can set your own prices or go with the default. The client pics the size and amount. Zenfolio sends the order to Mpix, they then send the finished order to the client and then they send you a check. I like this site because of all the pro labs I have used in the past mpix is actually dead on accurate with my color, and the prices are very reasonable.

I've shot and sold images from about 140+ events over the past 3 years. I looked at a bunch of the online services. Many are great. PHotoreflect, smugmug, Pictage, etc. etc. all are good in their own ways.
    With all that being said...

One marketing tool and concept to both drive sales and cover your butt is to use an online service to market your image which has the necessary tools to increase sales and protect the subjects "right to privacy" option if they want it. I chose EventPictures.com. I can open or close access as much as I want via event passwords, unique event url's, etc. The have pretty much the lowest cost of any of the services and handle customer calls, online payments, printing, shipping, and customer support calls and returns.
