Can you use Paypal with out a bank account?

Is there a way I can set up a paypal account with out using my current back account? A Paypal card or anything like that?

I have read that Paypal can freeze your bank account if they detect something that looks wrong!!

I want one to buy off of Ebay, I usually just send a money order.

I don't use a Credit card. I just want something I can put money on and buy my items.

I don't have a problem using my debit card online, I just don't want to tie it into paypal.

yeah - you need "something"... they offer a paypal debit, my cousin has it, but don't understand how it works. You can do it without tying into your acct as a "verified" buyer, but there are limits to how often you can use it/how much you can use.

Also, paypal can't do anything to your bank acct - only your bank can. They can freeze your paypal acct, but that's it. They don't have the authority to do anything except debit/deposit to your account.

Another option and what I use is a visa gift card(vanilla visa). You will need to register the gift card to the same address you're using to ship to. Go to vanillavisa.com enter both card number and serial number on the back of the card. Half way down on the left you will see "register your card". Make sure you use the same name and address with paypal and this card. Once thats done you can add this card to paypal. Paypal will most likely send a transaction of $1.95 to your card "refundable" along with a four digit code to verify your account. Once thats done if you go back to vanilla visa you can see the transaction from paypal. The verification code or four digits will look similiar to this "5214PAYPAL *EXPUSE" the 5214 will be the code you use for paypal. Sorry that was long winded but it works

Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like the new rules at eBay. Thru the years it has been the go to place. I always used a money order and never had any problems. As a buyer you probably wouldn't have any problems, but as a seller the bad stories are many. With charge backs and disputes etc. Some of the sellers have a special bank account they use only for paypal. They keep it pretty well cleaned out on a day to day basis. Vanillavisa has some pretty hefty activation charges and it is not reloadable. For a while if you wrote the seller and asked it was still possible to buy, it turns into quite a hassle as they then have to send you their address.

I don't even look much anymore. Sigh............

Set up a separate current account to link into your Paypal account? I have more than one current account, one is a fairly dormant account so if it was frozen it wouldn't cause too much trouble as I have the other more active one to rely on.

u can use PayPal without a bank account/cc however it would only be limited to the money u transfer into it from an acct, or by the money that is incoming from whatever service ur reciving money from, and at that time u can only use it wherever paypal is accepted (out here u can even pay for gas with the PayPal Card)

The separate account is a good idea, I will need to look into it, I have been thinking about geting into stock photography, maybe I will hold off untill I get some photo submitted, since the stock sites pay you with paypal.
