    Default Just a few photo's

I've been carrying my camera everywhere with me lately.

I think this would have been better with a slower shutter but it was totally unplanned when I got stuck at the level crossing.

Some random bridge beside the level crossing, missed some really really nice light by about 10 minutes

    The woman.

Soldiers hole, apparently during the 1798 rebellion a whole platoon was lost trying to cross this river.

I like the idea of the first one. The colors are inviting, but wish you had all the nose of the train or like you said a slower shutter speed to make it all motion.

Soldiers hole looks like a good place to explore and go back to. Really like the hanging foliage off that bridge.

Soldiers hole is a beautiful scene that belies the danger lurking there.

I can attest to the dangers of apparently tranquil water from personal experience. I was canoing on the upper Blue, some time back, with my son and a woman I was dating at the time when we approached some rapids. The water I was in was rapid but appeared, to my relatively inexperienced eye, to present no problem so I was looking past the closer rocks trying to guess which angle to take the rapids. As we approached the rocks God (or so it seemed) reached up and pulled the canoe straight down to the bottom. I was able to stand up in my chest deep water but my son and the woman were in over their head. My son and I were in martial arts 6 days a week and so were in good shape. I managed to get the woman to the bank (she was closest to me) and by the time I turned around my son came sputtering out of the water nearby. Although he was a good swimmer the suction was too great so he walked across the bottom until he broke free. I then went back and grabbed the canoe and pushed it sled like across the bottom until the flotation in the canoe allowed it to rise to the surface.
A man strapped in a full back pack with a weapon would not have made it.

You have a good angle on the stream and I like the view of the bridge you have captured. Good eye!

Nice set of unexpected shots Jay. #2 and #4 does it for me, I also agree with the previous comments about the calm/serene sensation this scene portrays. Well done.
