Thread: MB-D11 Focus Lock Solution

    Default MB-D11 Focus Lock Solution

I received my new MB-D11 battery grip from B&H Photo today and quickly discovered the same focus lock problem with the new grip. I decided this was highly unlikely I so started experimenting with the unit and stumbled on the solution. In the camera's Custom Settings Menu under f Controls f5 (Assign AE-L/AF-L) must be set for AE/AF lock. At the same time at f10 Assign MB-D11 must be set for AE/AF lock for the focus controls on the grip to function just like the camera controls. There probably wasn't anything wrong with the grip I returned to B&H Camera.

Bob, I believe a few of us told you to take a look at the controls menu.

Go back to the other thread you started, we tried to save you the trouble... Granted, I did not have an exact answer, but I knew it had something to do with the settings.

As these cameras get more technical, they also get more tempermental.

Anyway, glad you found the solution.
