    Default Battle Of Saratoga

My wife and I are aficionados of the Revoloution and take our grandsons to celebrate the fourth of July at some location that had to do with the Revoloution.

This year we went to Saratoga Battlefield (which is not in Saratoga) and watched re-enactors fire their muskets and cannon. Grandson loved the noise and smoke.

What a nice old cannon. And very well maintained. Good shots. ~~Peg

    Thanks all for looking.

The re-enactors seem to have a lot of pride in the performance/appearance, Peg. I have a picture of them in my mind's eye cleaning and polishing these things all the time. Their clothing and firearms are also clean and polished and correct to the period. I think their military training may be lacking , though, as the cannon fired way earlier than they wanted it to.........

I thought my gransdon was going to pee his pants, Rob, when the riflemen fired 4 or 5 volleys in a row. Lots of smoke, lots of noise.

Nice series Willard. The re-enactors at these events can really get into their character!
