Yesterday we celebrated the fact that 10 years ago our beautiful girl,Kia came to live with us.What makes this all the more special is that this is a milestone that we didn't think we would reach as she was diagnosed with a tumour in her right lung and some small lumps in her pancreas back in January. She is defying the expectations of her vets and continues to do well and make us smile everyday.Another worthwhile celebration.

Last week, my husband went to the oncologist for his after chemo appointment. The tests that they performed before it came up negative. So the conclusion at this time is that he is cancer free.

Thank you all who kept him in your prayers and thoughts. It has been a long tough year and a half. You all are so great. Thank you.

Thanks John, sure hope it's not his last, he hasn't finished planting the corn yet. And that is what he is doing these days.

Hope you are gaining too. Your sense of humor is still there and seems to be getting better, if that is possible.

Skippy, that is WONDERFUL news. I've wondered many times how he was doing and have kept him in my thoughts. May you both have happiness and good health for many years to come. ~~Peg

Thanks Peg, at least the chemo is over and his body can begin to rebuild itself.

Well, I haven't been around much as of lately, with only a couple of random photos posted, but have been peeking-in (lurking?) occasionally. After 16 years, today was my last day with students (their last day of school was today), and my final day in the school system will be May 31st, with retirement date of June 1st. There just might be time now for me to finally do some fishing and photography once again....after I put some serious time into the honey-do list I've been putting-off,

That's great Greg. But I wouldn't count on too much spare time. Most retirees are so busy, they wonder how they ever found time to work.

Congrats Greg. A well-deserved retirement. Hope it's a healthy, happy and fulfilling one. ~~Peg

Thanks, Skippy, Peg, and Micheal . Still working (half-days now mostly) these last few cleaning/clearing out my office. Been working on that off & on for the past two weeks . It's nice knowing I'll soon not have to worry about being on a strict time schedule (unless I choose to get a part-time job perhaps), and looking forward to getting the boat on the water again after not having it out for two years now.

Yes you must get the boat out. The boys will love being on the water.

Monnie, I am retired 5 years ago & many wished me to enjoy my retirement. I always wondered whether these people really think one can enjoy one's retirement. U are at work until yesterday & today u find your world completely transformed. U don't see your familiar office, your colleagues, boss & subordinates & your work files. A part of your life suddenly comes to an end. It's cruel to ask an able bodied & able minded person to retire. If some one asks him to "enjoy" his retirement, it's like asking him to enjoy the inevitable.

    Of course, it's just me.
