    Default The Eyes Have It

Love this shot of Kaitlyn. This was at the Summerville Flowertown Festival. She had just had her face painted and was showing it off.
Is the lighting on her face too flat. This was about 10AM on a hot sunny day. We were in dappled shade. With the hordes of people around, it was hard to get everything like I wanted it.

Oh she's getting so grown up!
I don't think the lighting on her face is an issue, but what does draw my eye away is the blown-out area of her hair. BUT, that said, we don't always get to pick conditions, and when an opportunity such as this presents itself, it simply must be taken.

Oh Monnie................this is the one that gives you a glimpse into the future. The woman she will be is there. Keep it safe you will go back to many times.

It all depends on how this one prints out. She is very fair so maybe it close. I might like just a shade darker. Have played with, but can't make up my mind.

    It's a keeper for sure.

Ruth, I agree about the hair. With the top of her head tilted toward the sun, it just blew it out. I have worked with it and recovered some. I thought about cropping more off the top. I just don't want to tight a crop on her face in this one. I like it with a little more room. Decisions, decisions.

Skippy, I agree here, too. I don't know why her face seems dirty here at the Zo. It isn't like that in PS. I used curves to try to get some definition in her face. I will probably play somemore with it before I have it printed. This will be Elizabeth's Mother's Day present.

Monnie in the raw orginal, when you process it can you more detail in the hair if you underexpose by a lot? If there is detail there, you may be able to stack and blend. A simple hdr effect. Just a thought. Elizabeth will love no matter how you process.

If it were mine, I'd crop it so the hair isn't an issue and focus on those wonderful eyes. It doesn't hurt the photo a bit to crop like that. And she looks so mature. Great shot Monnie. ~~Peg

I agree with the crop, it doesn't hurt the photo at all. Her eyes are wonderful, you captured them perfectly.
