I like this, John. I really like the background. What made the circular ripples in the background?

Monnie...it's called "banding". Occurs sometimes in post-processing.
    Happy Shooting,

John - beautiful shot, you managed really well with the lighting.

Peg - STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! It looks so delicious I really want a slice right now (even though I have been eating all day). We do have plenty of peaches here, it's just that they are not made into pies, only eaten as they are.

Monnie - an excellent shot, very clear and sharp. She seems to have grown so much in the short time I have been away.

Edvins - what a pretty flower, I love the colour.

Willard - good shot of that chipmunk, I love the angle. He looks really cute but then I know nothing about them so maybe he is not.

Paul - just beautiful - what stunning colours.

Karin - beautiful sunset too. You should pack your bags and get over here, we have just had 4 weeks of temperatures around 40 and there is no sign of a let up yet.

Navigator - ahhhh, you must be so proud, he is so cute. Complimenti to you and your family.

Chicagojohn - interesting shot. Most people shoot hot air balloons because of the intense colour but you have shot one in B&W. Very brave and yes, I think it has worked really well.

thanks Polly1, but my image was shot in color and heavily photo processed to achieve the desired banding effect I was after. Here is the original one I took in full color without my post processing enhancements...

    Phil-Congratulatons

John-Interesting conversion which works very well and I love the intensity of the colour version too.

Polly-thank you <<You should pack your bags and get over here, we have just had 4 weeks of temperatures around 40 and there is no sign of a let up yet.>>

Very tempting...with the current excuse for a "Summer" very tempting indeed.

    Michael-I agree with Ed,very atmospheric
    Karin

I'm with Edvins and Kiasmum, Mishlove; it makes me feel like I'm there. Also, I like the combination of sunlight from the left reflected on the graffiti sign on the roof against the illuminated signs on the street level. Being brightest, these are the elements that become the subject of the image for me. Really nice composition

Micheal you are the Master of the street scene, this has a great feel to it, love the soft light brushing the top of the buildings.

Lovely place you have there. I like how the lines on the stalls lead out to the wooded area beyond the rail fence. I'm sure the horses love it there. Sometime post a picture of the messy barn; this one looks quite orderly to me.

John well done conversion. If you get good at available light, one less piece of gear you need to carry.

Peg now I am hungry. Looks good enough to eat, but it is long gone I am sure.

Monnie good one, notice that tongue trying to escape.

Ed lovely. Bet this tree is gorgeous in person.

    Willard how cute is that.

    Paul lovely sunrise.

Karin glad your had a beautiful sunset. Yukky weather can be so depressing.

Phil Congratulations on the new grand son. They can be a joy.

CJ black and white for such a colorful and fun subject? Whatever floats your boat. If I were to do it I would make much more crisp with better white points. Colored one is good.

Michael, sounds like fun, according to the signs it might have been close to China town.

Linda love your barn. It is well kept working barn. Messy would shit in the aisle.

Early in Week 26 was cataract surgery with extras. So this lady is not a happy camper at the moment. Have 5 stitches in the eyeball and it maybe another two weeks before they come out.

This is how the the Left (eye that is) see the world. And am finding out the right was not the strongest for doing computer work or anything else, and it is tired. Sorry guys can't go thru all the new posts like I usually do.

Was wondering where you were, Skippy. Good to see you posting.

You will be a lot happier camper after the cataract operations heal. You will see better than you have in years.

Buena salud and good health, too.

ChigacoJohn - thanks for posting the original colour shot of the balloon. I see where you are going now and think you did an excellent job, not many people would attempt to change those vibrant colours into B&W.

Michael - brilliant as ever and I really love the warm and vibrant colours.

Linda - looks very organised to me and I like the light and DOF. What new camera do you have?

Skippy - nice to see you and sorry to hear of your operation. Take good care of yourself and get well soon and start posting again. I have missed you.

    Jim - an eggsellent shot!

Better late than never! There has been some major fault here this week and we have been without internet for days which is not good for me as my work is internet based.

Anyway, here is a shot of another small port not far from my mountain home. It was originally (and still is) a fishing port but has recently been modernised to accommodate pleasure craft.
