Default Found the Battery Charger, My Bad...

I am not a happy camper. Got my replaced camera... there is NO battery charger in the box. Didn't they bother to look? You'd think with this being a replacement they'd make sure all was in order. I'm ticked off. They had better overnight one tomorrow. Will be on the phone with them when they open for business in the morning.

Sorry to hear about the mess-up, Linda, and know how frustrating missing parts can be. Awhile back I had to have my computer repaired and shipped it out-of-state for repairs. Finally got it back...minus the power cord. Called them and it took almost a week to get the dang cord returned to me, even though they did not send me my original cord. I was not a happy camper either. Hope they get you you squared-away soon.

I am quite surprised that you had a bad experience... When I bought my D700, I bought it in the store and two of the boxes came out of storage slightly roughed up and they changed them right there. I am sure face to face everyone is different.

When you get them on the phone, gently explain the repeting problem and explain that you have an event coming up that you need the camera for. Hopefully they will expedite.

In my general experience the daily grind of this style of problem is ongoing to the point the cumulative effect is frustrated anger at the slightest hiccup....yet any manifestation of this anger is seen as negative toward the person experiencing the problem........hopefully your call will result in a resolution....lets hope the customer service rep you get is at least empathetic and helpful....one can only hope.

Just so you know, I vent and growl on a forum ... typing my words. On the phone or person to person I'm rarely nasty or mean, so they will get the pitiful me on the phone this morning. Someone goofed. Mistakes happen. But I really want to take pictures!!

I can sympathize with your frustration. My experience with B&H has been positive. I'm sure they will address your issue ASAP. Not sure they will overnight it though.

If you sent in your camera you should not send in any of the accessories unless directed to by the vendor or you check with them yourself. They usually tell you to only send the device because they have all the other parts to check out your problem. Also, I always send a list of everything I send on a note in the box and if I am corresponding via email, I'll send the list there as well.

They said to send everything back in the original packaging. So that's what I did. I double checked to be sure it was all there because I didn't want to get hung up in getting the replacement.

OMG, I feel so stupid. So I called B&H. They said they didn't send a charger back because there wasn't one in the box. I was adamant that I sent everything back. The poor guy goes to get his supervisor. Meanwhile I'm checking around to be sure it's not here. I walked by my dresser twice and saw a battery charger, but I really thought it was the old one for my D50. Yep, it was the new one. I had it all along. I apologized profusely. What a dolt I am. Anyway, the battery is charging!! And everyone is happy.

Been there many times. Sounds like you were polite to them, usually you get the best result in the end with that approach. Much easier to admit it was your error when you're not ripping them a new one.

That battery must be charged by now...lets see photos from that thing!

Battery is charged, but it's raining and dreary out and I'm working on a quilt. I'm taking the camera to work with me tonight along with the manual and just going to sit down and go over it for several hours.

    Ah! ha!
Its what I call a "senior moment" - have them all the time, sometimes because they are real, sometimes just for the fun of it!

Linda you may wish to edit the title of this thread since it would seem they are blameless and they are good supporters of Photozo. Every time someone comments the ..."Messed up" title is moved to the top.

Hmm, I changed the title of this earlier this morning, now it's back to the original title. What's up with that? I see that it changed on my first post, but I see no way to change the original title. Jim, if you want to and know how you can change the title.
