As many of you know, my Canon 40D stopped working during the 4th of July fireworks show I was attending. I tried all the "normal" fixes you are supposed to do, i.e, (change battery, remove CF card, apply hammer to top of camera with Herculean force, etc.) Nothing worked. So it was time to search the internet and see if I could find some help. Unbelievably, I did. A young man had posted to a site I ran across that he had removed the main battery as well as the watch type battery that controls the date/time/year in his camera. He let it set for about 30 minutes, then put it back together and the camera "rebooted" itself. I tried that and Voila, it worked. The 40D came on and seems to be working just fine. What a relief! For some reason the camera gods smiled on me.~~Peg
