Default I don't do serious well...

Fact is, I'd be right at home hanging w/ Peter Pan....BUT, having a chance to view and read the forum today, I see some discussion has generated a need to lock threads, etc.
and I feel obligated to share a few thoughts with you re: internet interacting....
I'm sure my board name means nothing to those who never watched the early days of TV in the USA, but suffice to say the character I stole my name from, carved out an image, that still to this day evokes a certain perception (of him, or people with the same personalty traits).
Quite innocently I found this out by how people on the internet reacted to me without the benefit of even knowing me....in other words, their perception became their reality. I don't for a second believe anyone escapes prejudice as a means for trying to navigate, and understand, the world (and relationships) around us. I know for certain I do....
But what I have come to realize, albeit slowly, is that because I deem it "true" does not make it true, for others. I know I sure don't want to be judged without the benefit of understanding, so why would I not expect others to want/need, the same considerations?

Oh well....I'll just leave it at that and hope all members can search their own hearts, first, before we judge others.

Photography is an art, very subjective to impression, and interpretation. I think we all are gifted with that knowledge through the love of this media...lets see if we can somehow use that understanding as an asset to this site, and the world in general, please?

I'm with ya, Eddie. Hope you don't mind me commenting on your post. If you do, you can always threaten to leave the forum.

I'm sure the Beaver and Wally would be with you too, were they here. But I recall you as kind of a trouble causer on that show, one of my favorites when I was a kid.

As you say, photography is an art. at least the kind we do here; art is necessarily sometimes turbulent and sometimes also idyllic. This is art. It has its ups and its downs, and in photography we call that "contrast" or "dynamic range", and without that, you don't have a picture.

Personally, I think it's all good' what is happening: not that it should happen all the time continuously, but that it is happening for this moment.

In my perception as a newbie, this site has broadly and consistently manifested your wish that art as you characterize it be manifest. Why wouldn't we continue to do so? Of course we will, with or without a plea. That is endemic to the culture of this site.

However, what this incident does bring to consciousness, I think, is that maybe there is difficulty dealing with conflicting ideas and points of view here. That is always a tension in group dynamics, and it is good and healthy for those who participate in the group ultimately and for progress, even though it can be trying momentarily, as is the case here.

John, I think essentially we agree. Perhaps where we differ, or I failed to explain myself, is I would hope others reflect inwardly firstly, on how best to share, and communicate, in a manner they'd wish of others to express toward them, with hopes of limited collateral damage, which, may be detrimental to the sites overall health.
Sure, who doesn't look at a car accident, but in reality, would not your commute have benefited more without others having to pay the cost of our titillation(s)?

As to me leaving this forum for the reason you state.....I'll have you know, as the green newbie you testify to, you'd not be privy to such, I have stood fast, rooted firmly as a lone conifer on the edge of the Grand Canyon in a winter driven wind, threats to my life, and challenges to my mother if any of her children survived birth without brain damage......
to leave this forum. I'll assume you're reading this (or your nurse is to you) and that is my testimony to the success of those who suggested, otherwise......

Finally John, one last question of you. What do you think of speedos? I will swap 2 poses of me for 3 of you, eh?

I have read your post 13 times, Eddie. I was hoping for Satorie, my man, but it did not happen!

As to speedos, my friend; were I to wear one one in a photograph, you would not be aware of it in the photographic image. That, I submit, would be a statement of emptiness, if you can conjure that visual image in your mind, because, I assure you, you will never see it here on this forum.

Because if that were to happen, Eddie Haskell, there would be more that one or two members like you leaving. Trust me on this one; I've seen myself naked.

Well John, even with a losing season have you ever noticed the cheerleaders never stop?
And too, a broken clock is right twice a day, OR, even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut, which seems more apt to fit your tribulation , eh John?

You never cease to amaze me, Eddie Haskell. Seriously.

You have my number; I am the broken clock that is right but twice a day, and only once if it's a 24 hour clock. I am the blind squirrel that occasionally finds a nut.

That is exactly who I am. You have nailed me. And I am proud of that and that I acted in such a manner as to be so apparent to your perception.
