went for a short nature walk again today. Only brought my XZ1 but wished at times I had my D3100. It is was it is....

    #4 is my favorite.

I would like better isolation of the subjects (insects) in # 1 & # 2. Probably D 3100 would have given a better DOF in these pics, but u could well have failed to achieve the focus on the subjects which would have made the pics unusable.

Thanks Sudhakar! Thought I'd leave them some space but perhaps a tighter crop works better. Just re-did 1 and 2. Bob

I can't pick a favorite, BobR. Everything your posting is so lovely. Keep it up; I so look forward to seeing your work as I'm just now starting to get in to nature photography. I feel I am learning something each time I see one of your images.

Thanks John! I try other types of photography with limited and mixed results. ! Doesn't stop me from exploring though.

I think what draws me to nature and macro nature photography is being able to see in detail (what is often fleeting or to small to see normally) of the beauty that surrounds us. It is a constant reminder of where I would like my mind to be. Bob

I think the crops are ok as they are. I meant if one could make the subject standout better from the background in those two pics, they would have looked much better.

Ahhh..duh. Not much I think I can do about that besides fiddle with the contrast perhaps. Bob

Thanks John! Not my first picks but in the 'notable mention' catagory. Of course its subject and my sisters thought that last butterfly was "stunning, beautiful"....Dont be fooled because they are kin. ! Bob
