    Default Cardinal in the garden...

No sooner than Hunter posted a picture of a female cardinal I walked outside and spied a male and female in my garden! I rushed inside and grabbed my camera(thankfully with my 70-300mm on it already) in time to snap off a few shots of the male. The female took off as soon as I got back outside with the camera. Not the sharpest but not terrible either. I forgot to check my ISO until after 2 of these were at 800 ISO....Bob

Very nice. I like the first one best. If there is a third it isn't showing.

nice shots of the red bird. I prefer #2 slightly since you can see its foot and it looks like it's ready for action.
Also kind of interesting how the tomato is green and the bird is red; the opposite of a parrot sitting on a ripe tomato vine....

Also the idea of "cardinal", Vatican, Italian, tomato, and pasta with marinara sauce... the mind naturally seeks out all these connections.

Thanks John! Not the best but it freaked me out to even see one in the garden-let alone get a shot! Hadnt seen one since spring. Bob

Now that really freaks me out since I contemplated using "pasta primavera" in my earlier response, which in Italian and Spanish means "Spring", but did not do so. What are the odds, mi chavo?

I see it now... but I still like #1 best, but all 3 are nice. I think he likes your tomatoes. They seem to be doing well. I pulled all mine this morning, they weren't doing very well anymore.

I like viewing them in order. They actually follow his motion in the order they are presented.

Ive harvested over 300 tomatoes from the 16 plants I have. Very good year. Mine are looking long in the tooth but still have a lot of maters that may make it to maturity. I must admit Im tired of cukes and tomatoes! ! I must have picked 100 cukes too. Made about a gallon on sauce with the maters though, gave about 100 away and made two huge batches of salsa..... Best year I can remember for my little garden. Now my hot peppers are coming in.... Bob

The sharp focus of this is emphasized by the very thin twig. That along with the compositional elements and the colors make it a very beautiful image to me.

That is a nice image. Sometimes with a twig they end up blocking more of the face and eyes. Not in this one, you've got nice eye detail.
