Price isn't the only factor. Many companies offer different types of papers. Some better than others. Some calibrate more often, some cater their pricing to smaller photos and some to larger photos. I have used Bigphotohelp.com with success for large photos. I like adorama.com for regular sizes.

The paper that dotphoto.com uses is "Fuji Crystal Archive"

It resists fading for generations and is supposed to be proffesional paper???? Who knows.....But the pics always look great from them

All I know is that when I ordered my daughter's senior pics from a professionl photographer, they were printed on professional paper.....

MPIX uses that same paper...which gives MY photos more of a professional look/feel to them.

One of the things that I look for is a printer that will offer profiles. Also the type of paper makes a difference. A mat print is different than gloss and within those types each paper has it's own characteristic. Some printers can print redder reds and bluer blues also. Some labs will go through and hand color correct and adjust each photo you send them, some labs do none and some use a computer batch to automatically adjust each photo.

Different paper/ink combos will have different longevity ratings too. I've heard the one hour printing walmart/sam's club does on fuji archive will last around 10/20 yrs.

Yes. you can get profiles from MPIX....wouldn't want to send something out without them.

Last time I checked they say to use sRGB but if you beg and plead they will give you a profile... no?
