Thread: better photo organizer?

  1. Default better photo organizer?

    Hi Everybody,
Does anybody have experience with a good photo organizer? At the moment I am using Image Bird(v2005) (from IMOK-Software) and am very pleased with it. Unfortunately, my 90-day trial period has expired and before I am going to purchase it, I want to try other photo-organizers as well. I tried Picasa from google, but the software was very dissapointing (not so many features).

Does anybody have a good alternative? Or should I stay with the one I love?
Bye and thanks already for your replies!

    John

Welcome to Photozo, John. I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I know others will be able to help you. It appears you use a PC and I'm an Apple user. From what I hear, all these photo organizer programs seem to be a bit problematical from what friends tell me. I just organize my photos in different folders, based on Location where taken. For instance I have a Panama Folder that has sub folders in it for different locations or subject matter and that works for me pretty well. As your library grows so do the problems and I must admit I have problems finding some photos at times.

The trick to good photography is to learn where to point your camera and when to push the shutter. The EYE is more important than all the technical stuff.

John have you looked at Photo Mechanics?? I have tried the trial version and it seems to work well, not big on editing features but most folks use PSCS2 or PaintShop Pro for editing.

I used to use Photoshop Album 2.0 but recently made a switch to iMatch. I've been quite pleased. This post on my blog details more about my switch to iMatch.
