PS-question: Command Expand

Haai All, just a question about Photoshop (7).

When i am done altering my pictures i save them and after that i start an action which will make the frame around my pictures.
But sometimes the command "Expand" is 'not available' and the action stops. I am not an expert on this and to me it looks like it happens randomly, but i gues i'm doing something wrong here.

Does any of you have the same struggle or know how to solve this?

Some guesses to what might be causing it ... I think its either a selection setting (ex: expand selection by several pixels) or a canvas resize command (expand by x pixels). Also, it could be a PSD 8 (CS) command not supported by 7, but that wouldn't give you inconsistant errors.

What's the process of your action? Can you post it, or describe the ordere of the action? That might help us see where the problem is.

I told you ... i'm doing something wrong here ... and there it is ...
i left some boxes unchecked within the action and didn't pay attention to it before running the action.
Now i also remeber that i have played with it before and didn't put back the check-boxes.

Just to clarify though, given that expand is a command applied to a selection, it would not be applicable if you hadn't made a selection - right??
