    Default Storm on the Horizon

Before Cristobel became a Tropical Storm, it swirled around off the coast of Charleston. We were going to the beach, but the others decided we should go to the lake instead. These are still outer bands of the tropical depression. I thought the white lifeguard chair tilted at an angle against the color of the water and sky worked. Tell me what you thing.

I really like it Monnie, as you said the leaning chair works well. The white of the chair plays nicely against the gradually darker water and sky. The rope works well to lead your eye into the shot. Nicely composed.

On the way home from our little mini vacation I heard about the storms on the radio. Instantly I hoped you, Linda, Rick, and all the other Zoers your way were alright and not being affected. Hopefully the remaining bits don't disturb you guys.

Thanks, Brad. It passed us by without any problems. Just some brief showers. We've had much worse summer thunderstorms. The ocean was a little rough with an undertow. I really wanted to go to the beach and get pictures of the waves. The rest of the gang didn't want to drive that far and not be able to go swimming.

It's quite interesting Monnie. Makes you wonder if the lifeguards tend to be a little tipsy.

The shot works very well and the leaning chair just adds a nice touch to it. I find it quite interesting to see differences in weather around the world. Here in Panama, we would just call that an overcast sky. Storms here are with the sky filled with nasty clouds and they are BLACK!

The trick to good photography is to learn where to point your camera and when to push the shutter. The EYE is more important than all the technical stuff.

Thanks, Landis. Our normal storms are like what you get in Panama. This is typical of the early approach of a tropical system. Bands of weather come in from the northeast off the ocean. In the early stages only part of the sky will have clouds and rain just like this.
