Never seen a wave with sneakers. I've seen sharks, actually been swimming FAR TOO CLOSE to one once and they are NOT NICE for swimming companions.

The trick to good photography is to learn where to point your camera and when to push the shutter. The EYE is more important than all the technical stuff.

Don't go in or near the water around Goat Rock, Steve! That's north of Bodega Bay. Those "sleeper" waves even pluck rock climbers off the cliffs. I shudder when I see people allowing their children play tag with the surf near there. I tell the parents about the waves, but can't do much else. People's dogs are also frequent victims of those waves in that area.

I was making my way through Pt. Reyes this morning and found this sign at south beach. The park was empty with the exception of one small group of whale watchers. I told them about seeing one earlier in the day. Most had binoculars, and a couple had small P&S camers. It is a wonderful park that I hope to explore once I make the final move to the north bay.

Makes it sound inviting, doesn't it?
